Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses.
~Alphonse Karr
Tough economy, high unemployment, weak recovery…yet there are so many things to be thankful for.
Especially if you have good health, you are blessed beyond measure. It’s a gift often taken for granted until it’s lost. I speak from personal experience; my husband was stricken with a progressive, serious illness a few years back.
Grueling hours, the inevitable challenging client and/or challenging employee, getting on yet another airplane, managing the books – he’d give anything to go back to those sorts of things.
It’s shifted both his perspective and mine.
So – focus on what you have, not what you don’t. And if you’ve got a job search or career situation that requires resolution, I’m betting on you…you’ll work it out.
If I can help, let me know. Your questions are always welcome.
Meantime, thanks for reading! Warmest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.
So often we dwell on the things that seem impossible rather than on the things that are possible. So often we are depressed by what remains to be done and forget to be thankful for all that has been done.
~Marian Wright Edelman
